I work in a great group, however not all groups are as lucky. The people that I work with all work together nicely and really get along. The work load is kind of stressful at times. good usually roll you from one job to another so you usually don't have much downtime. they pay their apprentice really good. great company if you want a trade they will pay you while you learn The work/life balance is heavy on the work. It is not uncommon to work 60 - 65 hours per week as a salaried employee. Management seems to favor and promote certain types of people over other types. I worked for Fluor for almost 26 years. I would love to work there again. Most people at Fluor are kind and encourage coworkers to succeed. Managers encourage employees to cross-train. I wish that I was on a work assignment for them right now at this very moment. I worked on seven Pharmaceurical plants. Three Nuclear power plants. Three Hydro power plants, and several manufacturing plants. I worked overseas in Afghanistan for Fluor and enjoyed it all I would definitely do it again I have a better understanding of our great military personnel while working beside them Fluor is an outstanding company to work for.
It was a great company to work for as a contractor at least. I had no issues, whenever there was a problem. I always had help resolving the issue. Good times. We need to move out of state, otherwise would never change the company I would encourage seekers to apply focus elsewhere. Publicly the company spouts ethics and ethical behavior; however, the internal workings tell a much different story. I've worked for Fluor for 18 years. They've been a great company. They had some rough times in 2018, but the CEO is no longer there and they got a new one. Changes are being made... It's time to get the lazy ones and politicians out Average work day, company cares about your health and well being, work load varied from heavy to mild, calm and pleasant work space and group of employees. My first and best overall contacting job! I don't have anything bad to say about Fluor, they were a close knit family oriented company. Like I said, as far as being in the office to being in the field I loved being in the field. I great management. They always provided us what they could. Very nice environment, good equipment and furnishings. The layoffs quickly follow work load and they do not rehire those laid off before opening up to new applicants. Great leadership team with a collaborative work environment. Excellent opportunity for advancement if you are willing to put in the time and effort. I have worked for Flour for 10 years and they have had a lot problems with safety And hiring quaified personal. They have change for the worse, with all I have seen. Pros I have seen some good supervisors Cons Lot of back stabbing and setting up employes to fail. I enjoyed my time there, The best company I ever worked for, I had a greet time and the pay was great, I worked in a war zone in Afghanistan I felt safe no problem, Fluor made sure all my needs were met, if your looking for a company to work for in the Middle East this by far the best company.
Location Greenville, SC 335 reviews Lots of deadlines lots of time and material due to poor management which doesn't take enough time to come to the field and be more Hands-On with their projects but somehow someway the skilled employees of this company always make it work they have great team work and good personalities and strong attitudes as far as the Craftsman go in the field Pros Tools and equipment top shelf Cons Management not very hands on on most of their projects It is a busy company with a lot of changes happening constantly because it is a project based business model. There is opportunity for assignment work where pay and benefits are nicer, but working in the home office provided lots of job stability. I would work there again if the opportunity becomes available, good people and good environment! I was working for the Federal Group and I hear they have another project coming up. Cons Parking lot is about a 1/10 mile walk but you get your exercise! I would work for Fluor anytime.
