I'm going to pin my hopes on this thought process... When was the last time a young up and coming NFL OC decided to go fill an HC opening at a small market college? It would be a step BACK for Kellen to make the move, IMO. He has a lot of NFL buzz around him, and he could easily be a top candidate for HC positions after next year assuming the offense is as explosive as it could have been this year. I have to imagine the advice he's getting from his agent is to stay in the NFL. If Kellen goes to Boise, he's going to be in obscurity within a season once the noise dies down from the move. They aren't going to be national championship contenders. I also have to believe that if Kellen wanted so bad to coach at Boise he could have worked his way up through their coaching system. And at any point really, especially after NFL coaching experience. He never showed interest in going back. Maybe I'm wrong. I can't get in his head and know his wants or needs as a coach. But from everything I know about coaches, almost all have a burning desire to coach at the elite level.
