"Do they think I have an accent? " "How am I going to explain those six months at Lululemon to the CMO? " This kind of introspective curiosity goes by another name: self-consciousness. Better to leave that uneasy self-awareness at the door when you walk into the interview room. Put your attention on your interviewer and find out how you can be of service to the company. Here are some other things to bring when it's time to talk about your next career move: Notepad and Pen: it's old school, but the ability to quickly jot down notes is important in the interview. You want to give your attention to what's being said but capturing ideas for future reference (either in this conversation or the next one) is important. Plus, you can also have some talking points written down in that same notebook. And I'm not talking about a spiral notebook—I mean an executive folio, with a cover on it and pockets inside. (Scroll down for more ideas on how you can use your folio to your advantage). Ditch the Laptop: don't bring a laptop or tablet into a job interview.
When I actually arrived for the interview, I was twenty minutes early and was told to sit in the waiting room. There were a few of us interviewees and we chatted amongst ourselves for over an hour before the director of the clinic finally asked for all of us to head into his office. He declares that he is "far too busy" to interview us one by one, so he will just do it altogether. I was quite peeved since I was told that it was going to be a one-on-one interview and had prepared for quite some time. From there, it became an absolute disorganised mess. I will try to summarise the key events of this shitty interview: When asking us to introduce ourselves, he asked me "What is your nationality? " In which I responded that I was born in Australia and proceeds to prod: "Where did your parents come from? " We all know what he was trying to do. After figuring out my ethnicity, he was bragging about his popularity all around the world and how so many international companies give him money. He looked me dead in the eyes as he says, "I know they mean business when they give me that much money, after all, the Chinese can't let go of their money! "
Picture this: in the interview process, your potential boss wants to introduce you to Tanya, the new CFO. The meeting is unexpected so she hasn't seen your résumé. Tanya sits down to talk with you—would it be useful for you to have a hard copy of your CV to share with her? Your folio notebook is a great place to keep samples of your work, whatever that work might be. Having tangible examples will bring your story to life. If you're being interviewed for a role where work product matters (architecture, graphic design, animation, etc) that story is told with pictures! Get Your Story Straight: do you have a few details that might be really important to share, such as your past company's performance? Are you interviewing for a technical role where data could come into play? In that folio notebook, write down the metrics and measurements that matter. Make a note of stories that you think will be relevant, just in case you need to jog your memory. A few words can provide a quick prompt for you to share examples from your past.

With the whole oh this guy never does interviews blah blah blah, why is he so special? level 2 Well for one thing, he's worked with Stefanski for a long time, would be on the same page. Guy has worked for the Vikings for a long time, shows he's a valuable asset of the organization. Vikings have drafted pretty well and make the playoffs often. So sounds like he's had a good run with Vikings thus far. level 2 He is very well regarded throughout the NFL kinda like Nick Caserio and Eliot Wolf for that matter. Has a pretty good track record as a FO personnel and is highly qualified for the position. level 2 He does interviews pretty often. He almost got the niners job in 2017 and also interviewed with the colts the same year. The only reason he has been somewhat hesitant with us is because he thinks Berry already has the job. The noise you hear about him turning down all these jobs is because he tells the Jets "no, thank you" almost every year.
